Nine players were named to the 2012 American Legion All-Academic Team and will receive scholarships, sponsored by Diamond Sports, to recognize the honor. The recipients hail from each of Legion Baseball’s eight regions and are all entering their freshman years of college. Eight players will receive $2,500 scholarships, while the team’s captain - Gareth Berger Hanson from Enderlin, N.D. - will get a $5,000 scholarship.
