Maryland Post 217 hosting veteran benefits and career fair

John B. Latimer American Legion Post 217 in College Park, Md., is hosting a veteran benefits and employment fair on March 20.

Event coordinator Sean Phelan said the fair will include employment-related help and benefit experts for veterans and their families.

“This is our first year doing this event, so we are going to keep it simple. No pre-registration required,” Phelan said.

Organizations already committed to be at the event include Disabled American Veterans, Maryland-National Capital Park Police, TerpVets, RecruitMilitary.com, and the Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service. Post 217 and the VFW will also have a membership table.

The event, an extension of the “Hug A GI Day” initiative, will take place from noon to 6 p.m. March 20 at Post 217, 9218 Baltimore Ave., College Park, Md. More information is available on the event Facebook page; click here.
