National Resource Directory issues 'state widget'

The National Resource Directory (NRD), an online resource for servicemembers, veterans and those who support them, has released a state widget: a free Web module that can be tailored to display state-specific military benefits and resources on Web sites, blogs or Facebook “Fan” pages. The widget provides access to the wealth of information and resources that are found within the NRD, a DoD- and VA-sponsored tool that provides access to thousands of services and resources at the national, state and local levels to support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration.

A widget is an interface element often found on Web pages or in computer applications. Its purpose is to provide a main access point for viewing or organizing specific data. The NRD widget functions in a similar fashion. It can be personalized by color scheme and size and can display resources by either popularity or by newest additions to the directory. Creating an NRD state widget is easy and maintenance is free, as it automatically updates when new information is added to the NRD.
