using only one form of internet axcess to check in to the net is very unfair why not have a Echo link checkin as well!! Seeing how the current method cannot be axcessed by everyone and echolink is a free download and can be used by all licensed hams!! I first I thought TALARC was a national club was I wrong?

We hear you, Dan. We also think incorporating both IRLP and EchoLink modes in our digital communications will open up possibilities for club work and for members contacting us on our monthly nets. We are exploring what we can do in both IRLP and Echolink. In fact, we're soon to invite interested IRLP and Echolink users to act as Net Control Operators for the national nets. Those who participate from time to time as Net Control will be honored with a custom certificate or other recognition.

Several American Red Cross volunteers and non-Red Cross volunteers meet up every Sunday night on Echolink and IRLP for a directed net. It is not an "Official American Red Cross" net. However, we draw over 30 check-ins each week. Many of the Echolink and IRLP nodes are connected to various repeaters in local areas. It works and can be done.

Can someone post an echo Link repeater there near national before Monday Veterans Day? Just an unofficial place to make a few contacts with TALARC members.......
