Too many veterans being ignored. Needing homes, medical care. Our elected people seem to forget them and what they have done for us. We do what we can by donating to different causes BUT we keep wondering where is the government to help these causes.

This administration does not appreciate our military and wants this country to be equal to third world country's. The military will get no respect for another two years.

Without immigration reform none of the other issues matter.

Amen. Unchecked emigration will destroy our country. Emigrants used to come to this country to be Americans. Now they come to American and want to change it into what they left. We have to have everything in Spanish for them, and they demonstrate and display the Mexican flag. Why can't we put troops on the border and only let legal emigrants into this country. However this will never happen as long as the Democrat Party runs the country. Notice I said Democrat Party. I hear it referred to as the Democratic Party all the time, there is nothing Democratic about it, they want to control every aspect of our lives. I was born in 1931 when tis was still the land of the free and the home of the brave. Over the years I have watched that freedom slip away. If the Democrat Party gets another four years it may slip away completely, so the other things wont really matter. God Bless America.

You are 100% correct. The illegals coming here from other countries for a better life and then want to wave their flag and observe their holidays and customs. How do they justify coming here and then trying to change it to what they left.

I am concerned that the budget cut will drive military families on to the local economy and more and more commissaries will be closed. If that is the DOD plan to start cutting away the military benefits then the DOD will be back on the draft system in ten years.

WHY ISN'T THE AMERICAN LEGION SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER ABOUT THE REPUBLICANS FILIBUSTERING THE VETERAN SUPPLIMENTAL BILL THAT WOULD HELP THE TOTALLY DISABLED TO BE AT HOME WITH THEIR FAMILIES INSTEAD OF IN INSTITUTIONS. IT WOULD COST LESS AND THEY STILL BLOCKED THE BILL.

WE INVADE COUNTRIES HALF THE WAY AROUND THE WORLD AND DO NOT TOLERATE ANY CRITICISM. RUSSIA TAKES BACK THE CRIMEA THAT WAS PART OF RUSSIA, AND NEXT DOOR AND WE GO BALISTIC. SEND NATO INTO THE UKRAIN AND WE END UP WITH A NUCLEAR CONFRONTATION. SHADES OF DR STRANGLOVE. LETS END THE WORLD AND GET IT OVER WITH.

What education funding dose the American Legion have available, if any? I am in school and I using my food and electric bill money to pay for books. Education use to be a service to the community and the country, now it has become a business that is tearing down the country by creating debt and hardship.
I would appreciate any help!

Why aren't we pushing passage of HB 411?

The VA and DoD need to work together to better transition injured veterans from DoD to VA care.

The DoD needs cuts, we have admirals without commands, the IG says the CS can't defend itself, JSF can't fly from carriers.

My answer to the question of the week is that we all should be more concerned about the damage being done to our constitutional system of laws. we should be screaming MAD about the obvious violations to the constitution being done by our President and the liberal leftwing government agencies that have been set up latelly.

As a veteran watching the events unfold around the globe it becomes even more apparent to me that armed and prepared citizens as an augmentation to our active military will be a necessity. Therefore the efforts a foot to ban gun ownership has me concerned.

When a claim was tagged as NOD instead of documented Request for Reconsideration and it's been that way for over 2.5 years the ox won't ever get out of the ditch! Lies and deception even from the manager of the Atlanta VARO. Like another vet told me years ago: we all were killed in Nam....we just haven't died yet.

Stop Obama and gang from taking away our Freedoms that we have fought for from day one or we will not have a true government to handle all the other issues that we are concerned with.

We have let the present administration weaken our country so much that the Russians under Putin have become aggressive and there is very little we can do about it. For all intents and purposes we are back into the cold war again. Putin has one goal to return to the former soviet union at all costs. he has never been a friend of the Us and the rest of the free world. he is probably the worst leader they had since Stalin. We must rebuild our defenses or there will be a terrible price to pay.

The American Legion was organized to represent veterans, not to influence the State Department or the Department of Commerce or any other branches of government. God knows none of the other branches are interested in challenging the VA except to reduce the benefits it provides, and that includes the Defense Department. Those AL reps in Washington have plenty to do just to protect and expand veterans benefits as well as to shape up the VA. Getting involved in immigration, gun legislation, foreign policy, and other such peripheral issues will only dilute our influence in veterans affairs. Keep focused on our mission! Fight for improved education benefits, better medical care, and untouchable pension benefits!

My top legislative priorities are to stop the Koch-ifacation of our politics, the Murdoch-ifacation of our media the Walmart-ifacation of our economy, the Monsanto-ifacation of our food supply and the privatization of our military and military services.

Each of us took an Oath to protect the Constitution of the United States of America. Obama has violated our Constitution, 123 times at last count. Therefore every Real American should be working to Impeach Obama, for Treason against the Constitution.
