"Amateur Radio & The American Legion," a trifold color brochure, is now available for download at The pamphlet is designed for post leadership to evaluate the possibility of including amateur radio activity as a part of community service. TALARC members may use the publication to facilitate the promotion of ham-radio activities within a post, squadron or unit. It can also be used as a tool to keep the general public apprised of this aspect of the Legion’s overall service to the community.   1. You can make a great mouthwash at home with peppermint oil and water. Put a drop of peppermint oil in for each ounce of water. You want to make sure the water is boiled first and then measure the oil into a ceramic container. Pour in the boiling water. Using a clean cloth, such as a handkerchief, cover the container, then allow it to cool. Pour the liquid into a bottle that has a lid that fits tightly. Now you are free to use you new, homemade, mouthwash!
