What organizations were the first recipients of Child Welfare Foundation grants?
Incorporated in 1954, the Child Welfare Foundation (CWF) awarded its first three grants in 1955. The grants, totaling $22,500, went to:
- the Delinquency Control Institute at the University of Southern California;
- the National Association for Retarded Children, known today as The Arc; and
- the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness, known today as Prevent Blindness America.
