I think we should cut off all foreign aid to Arab countries and let the rich oil Arabs take care of their needs. These countries are so corrupt that no one knows whos actually getting the aid we are providing. Half of these countries are in civil wars and just let them go. Save that money and use it to protect our own borders, our military, and citizens of the US. Especially Veterans.

Two solid, irrefutable reasons to end US foreign aid to Pakistan: one, Pakistan has more than enough money to have researched, developed, installed, made operational a nuclear arsenal, and it continues to spend billions to expand that arsenal; two, in Pakistan the police, government, and judiciary often look the other way from, and often cover up for, open Moslem persecution of Christians and other religious minorities.

All actions have consequences and Pakistan's harboring the world's Number 1 terrorist should result in consequences. However, without at least some US foreign aid going to Pakistan we will have no voice there whatsoever. Pakistan's recent request for China to develope a permanent naval base there is a direct result of our actions against ObL and demonstrates they are already looking for outside assistance.

Then there are all the other Islamist supporter nations that also need adjustment vis a vis US Foreign Aid. None of them actually need our aid and our aid is given more as a bribe to them to behave correctly. Unfortunately this nation cannot depend upon the United Nations to compell them to behave properly and in many instances acts as a cheering section to their improper behavior. With this as a starting point it seems the only option is to reduce, not end, Foreign Aid to all these nations. How great a reduction should be the only consideration.

The federal government is looking at cutting entitlements for veterans and other taxpayers to balance the budget. Meanwhile, we are sending billions of dollars to other countries, like Pakistan, who are in better financial shape than we are. Am I the only taxpayer who believes this is ludicrous? We are borrowing so much money as a nation, cannot pay the debt, and our elected officials are looking to balance the whole works by cutting benefits to our citizens.

How many of these countries are giving us help in the devistation we are suffering from tornados, floods, and fires? We want to cut expenditures in the military but we're sending them in to cleanup other countries as well as our own. We need to cut back on aid overseas and start taking care of us for a change.

Other posters appear to have forgotten that cutting off aid to Pakistan means allowing a foreign power with nuclear weapons to possibly come under the influence of armies not opposed to using them against us. Right now cooler heads are prevailing and it is in the interest of all in the United States to have influence over this unstable but important part of the world. They, like us in America, are not of one mind. Let us support and influence those who will be positively pressed into the service of freedom in their fight against terrorism. It is clear, just like in the USA, our government agencies such as CIA, NSA, DIA, do not always work in the interests of the free Americans but in the special interest of the landed and powerful. Let us not forget that we must be ever vigilant to protect freedom, and abandoning Pakistan to the Taliban could easily cause us to anguish in a Nuclear Fire.

Since Pakistan has offered to let China establish a Naval Base on it's shores, then let China send them aid and not the U.S. I don't think that Pakistan understands that China is harsher on Muslim extremist than the U.S. If this is what the Paki's want, then let them have it. But remember: Be careful what you wish for.

I haven't observed any type of HELP, from any Foreign Country, Member of the United Nations or NATO, in lieu of ALL the Devastation here, in the CONUS. NOT 1 Red Cent !!! So, as far as I'm Concerned & Convinced, F@#$K Them ALL ! Cut-Off Every American Dollar. Especially, in the Non-Profit/Charity Sector. Alleviate the Tax Burden to the Legal & Average American Citizen. Obama will probably Never Withdraw any more Troops from Afghanistan. Maybe Iraq, though. But, Will NO Doubt have us involved within Libya, then on Pakastani soil. So, it really won't matter.
It's High Time to Isolate & Go on the Defensive Game Plan. It'll Cost alot Less, in $'s & Lives !

We shouldn't have to pay other countries to be our "friends." If we want a military base in their country, we pay rent (and lots of it) along with all the money our troops spend there. Neither should we borrow money or raise taxes to give money to other countries.

In the case of humanitarian aid, if the people of the USA want to send their money someplace to provide such aid, each of us is more than capable of deciding how much to send and who to send it through (i.e. Red Cross, etc.). There is no need for the government to send my tax dollars anywhere.
