Blood drive set for convention

National Commander Mike Helm has announced that a blood drive will be held during the 97th National Convention in Baltimore.

The event, to be held over two separate days, will be on Friday, Aug. 28, and Monday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day, in Halls D & E, Level 100 of the Baltimore Convention Center. Helm expressed his hope that many Legionnaires, Sons of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary members, Legion Riders and friends of the Legion will give the gift of life by donating.

The Legion supports blood donation as part of both community service and national security, and The American Legion Blood Donor Program has existed officially since 1942 to help that cause.
