Community service project set for national convention

A few veterans in the Cincinnati area are going to benefit from a community service project set for The American Legion’s 98th national convention.

Volunteers from The American Legion family will stain wheelchair ramps, front porches and decks, and spruce up yards of three homes. The community service project is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 26, beginning at 7:30 a.m. A few members of the Legion family who will be helping out include Auxiliary National President Sharon Conatser, Past National Commanders Fang Wong and Mike Helm, and candidate for national commander Denise Rohan.

This will be the fourth such volunteer project the Legion family has staged at national conventions, starting first in Houston in 2013. For more information about the community service project, contact Matt Herndon at (317) 630-1406 or mherndon@legion.org.
