Florida Legion volunteers needed

Florida Legion volunteers needed. Flags for Fallen Vets is searching for 3,000 volunteers to help lay American flags at the headstones of 120,000 veterans buried at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Volunteers are needed May 25 at 9 a.m. (EDT). To register, visit the volunteering section on the website www.flagsforfallenvets.com. Volunteers are also needed in the Dallas-Forth Worth and Houston area. President and founder of Flags for Fallen Vets, Inc., Bob Fussner, is a member of the Sons of The American Legion Squadron 50 in Cleburne, Texas.

Last year, nearly 400 Legion Riders raised $334,000 during the Legacy Run to support The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship. Apply for Legacy Scholarship. The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship ensures that the children of parents who died while on active-duty military service on or after Sept. 11, 2001, achieve their dream of attending college.
