Julius Maklary of Douglas, Ariz. Julius Maklary of Post 11 (Department of Arizona) passed away April 25 at the age of 75. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Mr. Maklary served as department commander from 1998-1999, department vice commander from 1985-1986, National Executive Committee member from 2004-2008, National Executive Committee alternate member from 2000-2004, National Americanism Council vice chairman from 2008-2014, National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1999-2002, National Internal Affairs Liaison Committee member from 2007-2008, National Security Council vice chairman from 2002-2004, and National VA&R Liaison Committee member from 2004-2007.

Harry F. McDowell of Lehigh Acres, Fla. Harry F. McDowell of Post 323 (Department of Florida) passed away May 14 at the age of 89. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. McDowell served as department commander from 1983-1984, department vice commander from 1982-1983, National Executive Committee alternate member from 1986-1990 and 2013-2014, National Constitution & By-Laws Committee member from 1986-1990, National Counter-Subversive Activities Committee member from 1992-1995, National Distinguished Guests Committee vice chairman from 1991-1992, National Legislative Commission member from 1995-2006, National Legislative Commission vice chairman from 2006-2009, National Security Council member from 2009-, National Security Council vice chairman from 1985-1986, National Public Relations Commission member from 1984-1985, National Vice Commander from 1990-1991.
