On Memorial Day, 105-year-old World War II veteran Curtis Tigard was presented his American Legion membership card by Department of Oregon Commander Mike Morris. Tigard, who is believed to be the oldest individual recruited into the organization, is now a member of Post 124 in Beaverton, Ore.

More than $4,000 was raised for the Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors program during the 2014 Tractor Relay Across Nebraska – a nine-day, 425-mile ride.
