Your American Legion news update

American Legion billboards. “JOIN THE MISSION” and “LEARN HOW YOU CAN HELP” are two messages displayed on new American Legion billboards with the organization’s motto: Veterans Strengthening America. The billboard campaign is being conducted through 1st Degree Marketing & Public Relations. In January, the billboards were installed in Champaign, Ill.; Utica, N.Y.; Pewaukee, Wis.; Elmira, N.Y.; Kansas City, Mo.; Salt Lake City; Indianapolis; Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Baton Rouge, La. In March, the billboards were installed in Cleburne, Texas; Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio; Louisville, Ky; North Providence, R.I.; Greensboro, N.C.; St. Paul, Minn.; Buffalo and Purchase, N.Y.; and Bethlehem, Pa. Exact locations for the billboards are not available at the moment.

Training Tuesday April 27. American Legion National Headquarters staff will present its April Training Tuesday session on the military Transition Assistance Program. The training session is Tuesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. EDT. Visit the Training Tuesday web page at  legion.org/training/training-tuesdays for a link to access the session held through Microsoft Teams.
n NEC Spring Meetings. American Legion Springs Meetings in May will take place virtually. The National Executive Committee will meet virtually on May 5-6. The national commission meetings that traditionally occur in the days prior to the NEC meeting will also be virtual. Please visit  legion.org during Spring Meetings for coverage of resolutions, amount awarded for 2021 American Legion Legacy Scholarships, and the naming of the 2021 American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year.

CAC video presentations. The American Legion’s 2020 Combined Americanism Conference was held virtually last September. Presentations from the conference are now online for viewing, along with associated handouts. Visit  legion.org/cac/presentations.
