A tornado outbreak across the South on Sunday and Monday killed at least 33 people and left millions without power.

Hundreds of homes and businesses were also damaged across Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The American Legion’s National Emergency Fund (NEF) provides help in the form of grants to American Legion and Sons of The American Legion members in good standing, as well as Legion posts, who have been impacted by natural disasters such as this week’s storms.

Eligible individuals can receive grants of up to $3,000, and posts can receive up to $10,000. Details on how to apply are available online at www.legion.org/emergency/apply.

Since the NEF’s inception, nearly $9 million has been provided in financial assistance.

Tax-deductible financial contributions can be made online at www.legion.org/nef or by mailing checks to The American Legion National Emergency Fund, Donation Processing, PO Box 361626, Indianapolis, IN 46236-1626.
