U.S. Forces Korea held a Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea, to honor our nation's veterans for their service. Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, USFK commanding general, was the keynote speaker during the ceremony and thanked the veterans in attendance for standing up to defend freedom.
Also on Veterans Day, Legionnaires Bill Beatty (Service Officer), William Black (Adjutant), Don Wong (Historian/Judge Advocate), William Scafe, and Chris Vaia of Colonel Lewis L. Millet Post 38 (South Korea) went to the Seoul Foreigners’ Cemetery to pay homage to American veterans buried at the cemetery. The members of Post 38 placed U.S. flags on the gravesites of the 27 known American veterans at the cemetery. A small ceremony was conducted that included a prayer and salute to the fallen veterans.
