Route of Valor

On Nov. 6, JROTC middle and high school students at U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach in Germany put on a mobile historical pageant aided, as usual, by David Chavez American Legion Post GR1982.

According to a preview on the 9th JROTC Battalion’s Facebook page, the “Route of Valor” started at the post and was “lined with luminaries decorated by Ansbach students honoring veterans and servicemembers. Cadets in period uniforms will share veteran stories from throughout our history.” The post also made a monetary contribution.

Post Commander Kenneth Aungst commented that “we fully support our JROTC in all they do.” That includes American Legion youth activities such as Junior Shooting Sports. The post held a Veterans Day open house in conjunction with the event.
