Ham Radio Training

Forums:

I am an American legion Rider of Post 177 in Fairfax, VA. Does the American legion or maybe a supporter has some sort of Ham Radio Training class that a person could take in order to get a Ham Radio License?

Thank You,

Hi Mike
There are some online sites that provide self-paced study such as Ham Test Online. Those are generally nothing more than reviewing the exam question pool and taking practice test. I would check with the local clubs in your area. Ask when they have upcoming classes. Some clubs will do a traditional (classroom) class that runs a few weeks. Some will do a Ham In A Day (HIAD) that is a single day of test study cramming followed the a test in the middle to late afternoon.

Go to the The American Radio Relay League website and click on "Clubs." Next enter in your zip code in the search parameters to find the nearest club and their contact information.
