Wednesday TALARC Lunchtime operations

Forums:

By popular demand we're going to try daytime (lunchtime) operations from K9TAL, the TALARC radio station located at The American Legion National Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. On December 4, 11, and 18, we'll crank up and call CQ on 20M on or about 14.270 plus or minus 5 KHz. We don't want to interfere with any nets but we'll definitely be on the upper end of the band listening and calling. Look for K9TAL near 14.270 MHz at lunchtime on Wednesdays, December 4, 11, and 18 at 1630-1830 UTC (11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EDT).
If successful, look for it to continue in 2014!

Well, even though we didn't send a mass email out to all the TALARC members about our lunchtime operations, it still went well today! A dozen contacts over the course of about 90 minutes (Seven in the last 29 minutes!). Signal reports indicated our signal was strong and clear, so we think our antenna issues are resolved. Look for us again next Wednesday, December 11, from 11:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. EDT, 1630-1830 UTC. Thanks all for a fun session! Bill/NZ9S, Marty/W9WMJ, and Howard/KB9WPU in the national HQ.
