Over with the wind

Everett Bollin – call sign WA3DVO, and a member of Post 75 in Glenarden, Md. – reports that the “stress of high wind gusts” brought down the rotor and antenna array outside his home in June 2016.
A picture shows equipment stretching at an angle over his backyard; Bollin mentions his “quad, 40 meter 4 square, Hy-Gain Hy-Tower, 6 meter beam and halo.” He had to conduct several regular nets he controls from the station at Post 275.
Happily, though, by November everything was “back into operation,” Bollin says.
Keep an eye on the TALARC web page for more information on keeping your setup in good working order no matter the conditions outside.
