TALARC EchoLink Conference Net Report for May 14, 2016

Net Control Station W9WMJ conducted the monthly net on *FMCA-ARC* EchoLink Conference Node 522547 on Saturday, May 14, 2016. The net was opened at 1200 ET [1600Z] and closed at 1300 ET [1700Z]. There were 11 check-ins, including Net Control.

Information was offered that related to the 2016 Dayton, Ohio, HamVention set for May 20-22. An appeal was made for assistance from a West Coast-based Assistant Net Control station for 20-meter operations. Also, a reminder was offered along with words of encouragement for TALARC members to provide the monthly TALARC Newsletter to Legion and amateur friends who may be interested in joining the Legion radio club.
Those checking in for today's EchoLink Net discussed their participation as FCC Certified Volunteer Examiners [VEs], to include eligibility for certification, testing for certification and conducting FCC licensing exams.
WA3DVO reported that his local American Legion Radio Club conducts monthly exams at different licensing levels. He noted, too, that several of the VEs who participate are members of Glen Arden Post 275's club, call sign N3TAL.
N6SWC stated that he would address TALARC's need for a West Coast-based ANC station during the California American Legion Amateur Radio Service [CALARS] EchoLink net operations on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 1330 PT.
The net closed at 1700Z.
