Announcements were made regarding the following subjects:
• One-year anniversary on EchoLink conference *FMCA-ARC*
• Newest club station established at Denton, Texas, Post 71. This brings the count of TALARC post clubs and/or stations to 17 nationwide.
• TALARC website revised.
• Request for Net Control and Assistant Net Control operators.
• Start-up of Northeast Regional 20-Meter net on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1600 Eastern on 14.285 MHz, +/- 5KHz. Mark Halabuda will handle NCS responsibilities.
Discussion on the net was offered by several in regard to the following:
• Fred, WA5LIE, spoke of his successful efforts to activate an amateur radio station on site at Post 71 in Denton, Texas. He also spoke of a pending resolution that seeks the appointment of an amateur radio representative to an "appropriate committee" within the Department of Texas.
• Mike, W9MNA, reminded the net that The American Legion World Series was underway and could be viewed on television or live stream via pc.
• Mike, KM4RYM, generated discussion with questions about procedures for starting a post club and/or station.
The net closed at 1300 ET [1700Z].
