Club President Marty Justis, W9WMJ, taking a break during the three-day American Legion Amateur Radio Club Special Event Station operation commemorating the 93rd birthday of the organization.  Club members operated on 20 meters from 1400 to 2000 UTC each day March 15 - 17 commemorating the Paris Caucus in 1919 which resulted in the founding of TAL.
Legionnaire and TALARC member Jerry Hill, W9CZW of Noblesville, Ind., operates club station K9TAL during the Legion Birthday Special Event Operation.  Each of the several hundred amateur radio stations that worked K9TAL during the three day period earned a unique commemorative certificate.
Members of The American Legion Amateur Radio Club operated Special Event Station K9TAL March 15-17 from National Headquarters in Indianapolis commemorating the 93rd birthday of the Legion.  Offering a colorful certificate certifying the contact, they operated on HF using 20 meters, on VHF simplex and on IRLP Node 4816.
