Credit unions and aid societies are standing by to help service members and Defense Department employees may have to work without a paycheck if a government shutdown takes place Sunday.
About 30 organizations that help veterans and servicemembers, including The American Legion, sent a loud and clear message to Capitol Hill that the shutdown must end.
