The American Legion has already awarded almost $700,000 in nonrepayable grants to junior ranking Coast Guard families in need. Hundreds of additional requests remain, so any donations are appreciated.
The American Legion has provided $574,000 in Temporary Financial Assistance grant. With 1,500 more applications in process, more charitable contributions are sought to help fill the need.
