Typical Liberal, goes straight to the insults. I expect nothing better from any Liberal. And I am seldom disappointed.

I am very concerned over the anti-Christian actions government has taken as the political correctness crowd has tried to cut out the principles upon which our nation was founded. I am not looking for pro-Christian actions. I would like Christians to be given the same deference as Muslims and other religious groups.

Submitted by Chuck Schramm (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 2:02pm

I echo your sentiments Mr. Schramm. I remember when the adult white male was the most discriminated against person in order to forward "social policies".
I believe in equal rights and protections, not special rights and protections.

I agree with Dennis W Page. If Hilary gets in we can bend over and kiss this Country Good Bye.

The very survival of the US as we know and love

Submitted by bob green (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 2:13pm

The very top item is the Supreme Court. If Hillary gets in we will feel the negative ramifications of that for decades to come. You might as well burn the US Constitution now because it won't be worth the parchment it's written on.

Submitted by wingrider6 : Jul 21, 2016 2:15pm

You are so right, this may be the most important election of modern times. Hillary makes Nixon look like a saint.

Submitted by biklesbooks (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 6:37pm

The number one issue: We have to stop murdering our young while they are still in the womb. The Lord will never bless a nation that spills innocent blood and we have spilled a lot of it, more than 50,000,000 babies just in the United States alone. God please forgive us we know not what we do or do we?

Submitted by Garymc (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 2:30pm

First off, how do you as a man dictate what a woman can do with her body? Second, where the hell do you get your information? Fifty million? Where and in what context is this number presented. I realize that you may lack a higher level of education, but you must cite sources especially crazy numbers randomly thrown in a sentence.

Submitted by Greg McDonald (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 4:46pm

Women can do what they want with their bodies. They have choices. They can use birth control. They can say no. They have Plan B. They don't have the right to kill innocent children. Look at your children. How would you feel if one of them would have been aborted without your consent?
Two people make a child. If the father wants to raise the child, he should be allowed to. When a woman gets pregnant without the man's consent, he has to pay for 18 years. Double standard.

The most important thing to me is to restore the government back to compliance with the Constitution. So far, the Republicans are the only ones who are talking abut that, so I have to vote Republican.

All of the choices for this question really are a subset of National Defense!

The economy under Obama and Clinton is statistically better than any other President in modern times. I happy to say this will continue under another Clinton. We will finally have a liberal bench too! Nate Silver correctly predicted the outcome in all 50 states in the last election and he now has Hillary winning in a land slide. Check it out!

You would Best see the new movie, "Hillary's American" before you commit to this comment. You will have another 4 years of Obama/Soros. The statistics are coming from the Obama administration.

My primary effort will be to defeat Ms. Clinton (why is she called "Hillary" and he is called "Donald Trump". Seems pretty sexist to me!!) so that our Supreme Court will have appointees who believe in our Constitution.

Submitted by Neal Miller (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 4:10pm

The most important issue? UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION!!! ALL of it. This will address all of the listed issue, plus sereral more besides.

Trump is a successful businessman making hundreds of millions dollars. He is well traveled and can negotiate a fresh fish from a hungry bear. He paid for his own campaign, not like lyin Hilary who always has her hand in the cookie jar. Don't call her for help, she will leave you stranded and on you're own behind enemy lines.

If Slick Willie wife's wins, her Supreme Court picks will make all the other issues mute.

If Trump the Rump the ass of the Republican Party wins we are all in trouble.

If the Briexit is bad for Britain and the EU just think what a USexit from trade agreements etc will be for employment and the financial markets of the world. Watch for the greatest depression known to man.

If you support Rump look out because we will be the butt of a jokes. That's the opinion of this Republican.

I think putting the American people and America first is the most important thing. Screw the 1%, bankers, politicians, military/industrial complex, one worlders, free traders, democrats, republicans, foreign aid, foreign entanglements and the rest that I missed. Border fences, flat tax for all and tariffs will help make America great again. Wow, what a dream!

Submitted by Milt R (not verified) : Jul 21, 2016 6:59pm

I want the Congress and the Administration to come out from behind their barricades and get the work of the Nation back on track. Our votes don't mean a thing if the politicians continue to block each other's programs instead of productively compromising. The party hierarchies of both the Republicans and Democrats don't seem to want to encourage open ballots in all the states. Having just two political parties on the ballot is throttling the choice offered to the electorate, resulting in the current sad state of affairs. We need at least one more so-called "swing party vote" to break these 50/50 deadlocks.

Submitted by Richard Hofacker Jr. (not verified) : Jul 22, 2016 2:10am

This is not an election about one major issue. This is about all issues in America at this time. We need a strong president capable of addressing them all. It certainly is not the Clintons.

Submitted by Robert Miller (not verified) : Jul 22, 2016 6:35am

If we don't have a strong National Defense, these other issues won't seem to matter as much.

I'm voting for the candidate that promotes much needed healthcare for veterans. One that gets congress off its ass and working for "the people". I'm sick and tired of the majority party voting down veterans needs by tying them to special interest. Vote with your conscience and what if any intelligence you may possess.

Integrity. Country before self. With the candidates we have and the country moving left I am worried. As JFK said " Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"

Yes, you are afraid the country is moving left. So what do you do? You quote a Democrate.

I think that the most important thing this country can do is KEEP TRUMP OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE. that man is bad news. He has no plan to help the American people. Everything he touches goes bankrupt and we the tax payers have to pay for it. I live outside Chicago,IL,and MR Trump wants the tax payers of Chicago to pay him $600,000 so he can put his name on a building. Every time he opens his mouth, he puts his foot in it. All you have to do is listen to him, he puts down every body who does not agree with him. His "wife" cannot even come up with anything original to say she has to plagerize a speech given by MRS.Obama

Submitted by Patrick A.Costl... (not verified) : Jul 22, 2016 10:01am

While Trump is not my first preference either, I will vote for ANYBODY before I ever vote for Hillary. As for the plagiarizing allegations: those were not original thoughts by her either. The first time I heard those words used in a speech was my 6th grade graduation back in 1981. Did Michelle plagarize that speech as well, or is "tell the truth, work hard and keep your word/your word is your bond" phrases we all grew up hearing our parents tell us?

Submitted by ThomasK (not verified) : Jul 22, 2016 4:31pm

Anyone but Hilary Clinton. I'm an Independent. I would have voted for Jim Webb in a Heartbeat, But Hilary, Number 10.

Submitted by Don A. (not verified) : Jul 22, 2016 12:37pm

Yes I have an opinion but it doesn't matter now because according to your Florida attorney I have no rights as a citizen anymore. Our parents passed when I found out my two younger brothers stole my identity and now I don't know if I'm an American citizen (I also served in Vietnam) or a British subject. They kept my passport and all proof of my dual citizenship. Even all my baby pics and pics of my mom and all my relatives in England. Even kept my mom and dads English marriage certificate proof I was born to them after the marriage. So now without all the evidence I am nobody. I don't exist!

Nothing wrong with our economy. The problem is Big Business and Free Trade which allowed Big Business to move entire plants and the jobs they provided to China. Just look where the everyday products you buy are made - mostly China - and Big Business makes a ton of profit by importing stuff we used to make here in the USA. No, Free trade and castrating Big Business would go a long way toward restoring lost jobs here in the US.

Law and order covers several areas that are equally important. Then, the mix of our trade agreements with the poor economy. Nation building and monetary support for unfriendly nations and international weapons sales, really? Build OUR nation and put the monetary support into Social Security. "Take care of yourself or you will not be able to take care of others."

For me it is all about Honesty & Integrity , and so I will be voting for the Trump / Pence ticket this November.
I just don't understand how any person with morals ,regardless of party affiliation ,could support a Proven Lier for " Commander -in - Chief "

Today, Donald Trump said the Geneva Convention is 'out of date' and should be thrown out. This, after threatening the NATO alliance and other, bi-partisan, security commitments that have held the world together since WWII, often at the cost of US blood. As a veteran I am furious at the careless, cavalier way this...man has threatened to put this country and our armed forces in jeopardy in a dangerous world. I will do everything I can to see that he never has that opportunity.

There are a lot of good thoughtful comments here today. I'd like to add, or repeat, that I don't believe the US is on the ropes. We have The freedom and talent to overcome most things and as far as I can see prove it everyday. I want a leader with a positive vision that will continue the mostly positive progress we have enjoyed since the birth of this great idea we call home.

Statement published by the VFW:
"Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump has a history of lashing out after being attacked, but to ridicule a Gold Star Mother is out-of-bounds, said the new national commander of the near 1.7 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Auxiliary."

“Election year or not, the VFW will not tolerate anyone berating a Gold Star family member for exercising his or her right of speech or expression,” said Brian Duffy, of Louisville, Ky., who was elected July 27 to lead the nation’s oldest and largest major war veterans organization. There are certain sacrosanct subjects that no amount of wordsmithing can repair once crossed. Giving one’s life to nation is the greatest sacrifice, followed closely by all Gold Star families, who have a right to make their voices heard.”
