Gravesites on Memorial Day

The day began at 9 AM for the Knox American Legion Post 720. After meeting at the legion, we began our journey to the five cemeteries we annually visit on Memorial Day. St. Mark's Cemetery was the first stop. From there we went to the Shippenville Hilltop Cemetery. Then our caravan went to Huckleberry Ridge to Providence Cemetery. The next stop was St. Paul's Cemetery. The final stop was at the Knox Union Cemetery. A rifle salute, prayer, placing flowers on a veteran's gravesite was included in the memorial. Following the services, the Ladies Auxiliary prepared a delicious home-style meal for those who participated.
