Tri-City Area Fallen Warriors Memorial

Tri-City Area Fallen Warriors Memorial

The monument depicts three fallen warriors, each from a different era during the last 100 years: the World War I “Doughboy”, the World War II/Korea/Vietnam “G.I.”, and the modern day soldier of Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). The center figure, or the G.I., is kneeling and presenting our country’s symbol of freedom, the American Flag, which they sacrificed to preserve to the next generation for safe keeping. Installed directly behind the fallen warriors statues are two granite blocks, the Walls of Honor, listing the names, ranks, branches of service and dates of death of the fallen of the Tri-City Area of Morgan City, Berwick and Patterson, Louisiana. On the deck between the statues and the Wall of Honor are memorial bricks honoring those service men and women who died of non-combat related injuries or accidents during wartime. A “Walk of Honor” is also incorporated in the design to honor all veterans, both living and dead, with ties to the local area from Amelia to Calumet, Louisiana. This is done with memorial bricks donated by friends and relatives of our military veterans who served our great country.
