Leonard Almy

Leonard signed up for the draft when I was serving as an infantry instructor at North Fort Polk (aka Tigerland), La. Len signed up for Vietnam so that I wouldn't have to go. He ended up a gunner on a Huey and was exposed to Agent Orange, which he got no help at all for except a brass plaque for his grave. Leonard also got malaria and PTSD. And while in Bien Hoa he somehow got captured, but escaped with his buddy. He is and will always be my hero.
