Not much is known about his service. He did not talk a lot about it a lot. He did say that someone stole his logbooks just before he got out. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Distingushed Flying Cross. There was another but it slips my mind.
He did talk some about the Hump Pilots, of which he was one. His brother, Col. Cody U. Watson, was also a pilot and was shot down. He survived the war and retired as a colonel.
