.JETER WAYNE LEVAL JETER (59) went home to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 5, 2014. Beloved husband of Vanessa L. Jeter; dear father of Rashad, Domonique and Christopher; son of Ella Jeter and the late Rudolph Jeter Sr.; brother of Eugene, Dwayne, Wanda, Rudolph Jr. and Ronald; grandfather of 5.

Wayne Leval Jeter was born June 17, 1955, to the union of Rudolph Sr. (deceased) and Ella Jeter. He was the third of six children and lived life to the fullest. On Friday, Sept. 5, Wayne answered the Master’s call and went home.

Wayne was raised in a loving Christian home. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Bethany Christian Church in 1966 under the leadership of Rev. R. W. Dickerson. He was a lifetime member of Bethany Christian Church, currently under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robin E. Hedgeman. He earnestly loved and trusted God throughout his life.

Wayne was educated in the Cleveland public school system and graduated from John Adams High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served from Nov. 29, 1976, through Nov. 28, 1979. After leaving the military with an honorable discharge, Wayne attended Ohio Diesel Tech Institute and became a master mechanic.

Wayne married Vanessa Lesley on Nov. 10, 1986, in Cleveland. He was a family man. Wayne enjoyed family cookouts and considered himself a grill master, as did anyone who tasted his ribs. He loved working on cars and was a sports enthusiast. He particularly loved the Cleveland Air Show.

Wayne’s life will be celebrated; his legacy will continue and wonderful memories cherished by his loving wife of 27 years, Vanessa; three children, Rashad Sr., Domonique, and Christopher of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Rashad Jr., Christian, Jae’la, Christopher Jr., and Cayden all of Cleveland; his loving mother, Ella Jeter of Cleveland; five siblings, Eugene of Compton, Calif., Dwayne of South Bend, Ind., Wanda of Miamisburg, Ohio, Rudolph Jr., of Cleveland and Ronald of Lawrenceville, Ga.; mother and father in-law, Charles and Rachel Lesley of Cleveland; one brother-in- law, Larry (Donna) Lesley of Toledo, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Wanda (Chris Hines) Lavalais of Columbus, Ohio; one uncle, Bruce (Jackie) Wimbush of Atlanta; six aunts, Ruth Williams of Stroudsburg, Pa., Irene Willis of Loganville, Ga., Ernestine Munson of Montgomery, Ala., Eula J. Ligon of Glenwillow, Ohio, Daisy Chandler of Akron, Ohio, and Dorothy Mells of Tuskegee, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
