Chester Frank Kuchta

Chester Kuchta, 87, passed away suddenly Thursday morning. Oct. 23, 2014 from a heart attack. Chester was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Detroit to the late Joseph & Mary (Mazurkiewicz) Kuchta.

Chester lived most of his life in Dearborn, Mich., and for the last several years in Hartland, Mich., with his daughter and son-in- law. Chester served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947. He married the love of his life, Yvonne Kahl, on August 13, 1955. Chester retired in 1982 from General Motors, Fisher Body after 30 years of service as a cost accountant.

One of his greatest joys in life was his family and spending time with them. Chester was an avid card player and loved to read John Grisham novels and put together puzzles. He could be found most often at the Hartland Senior Center playing his favorite games, euchre and double pinochle. He loved the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings.

Chester will be remembered by all the lives he touched and by his devoted commitment to his family. Chester was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne and three brothers, Tony, Walter and Pete, and 1 sister, Helen. To honor his memory he leaves behind his children and their spouses: John (Jennifer Shimer) Kuchta of Vicksburg, Mich.; Carol (James) Franczak of Hartland; and Joseph (Kathy) Kuchta of Roscommon, Mich. One sister, Bernice, and his loved grandchildren: Jaren (Leeanne) Kuchta of Farmington; Chelsea Kuchta of Franklin, Tenn.; Jennifer Franczak of Hartland; Jason Budzinski of Roscommon; and Daniel Budzinski of Southgate, Mich.. He will be sadly missed by his family.

A Mass and Memorial Service will be held for Chester Kuchta on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 2201 South Old U.S. 23 Highway, Brighton, Mich.
