KOMAR
Joseph, 93, of Paramus passed away Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
Born in Czechoslovakia, he came to the United States in the late 1920s, settling in New York City initially and then moving to North Bergen, N.J., in 1956. Komar had been living in the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home for the last seven years. Prior to retiring, he was a clerk with the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, New York City.
Komar was a United States wounded World War II Army veteran, receiving the Purple Heart.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth Krch.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Komar and his wife Virginia of Clifton, and Thomas Komar and his wife Fran of Missouri; his brother, Frank Komar of Baltimore; three grandchildren, John Komar, James Komar and Debbie Heitkoetter; and one great-grandson, Rollan Heitkoetter.
