James Richard Hughes Sr.

James Hughes was born in Idaho, where he graduated from Nampa High School in 1948 and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and the Pacific Island of Eniwetok from 1948-1952 in the 79th Engr. Const. Bn. with a grade of SGT. He then attended Oregon State University for two years before pursuing his artistic talents and attending The Art Center in Los Angeles, after which he began his lifelong career as a graphic artist. He was married to his loving wife Barbara for 60 years and had three sons: Jim Jr., Gregg and Keith, of whom he was very proud. Jim and his wife retired to the state of Nevada in 1994, where he resided until his passing on Feb. 9, 2015, at 85. Jim was known as a kind and honest man. He will be missed by all who knew him.
