Edvin J.D. Erickson

Edvin John David Erickson ("Ed") passed away on Aug. 3, 2015, at his home in Kettle Falls, Wash., at 82.

Ed was born on Aug. 17, 1932, in Spokane, Wash. He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School, attended Cheney College and graduated from the University of North Dakota after serving as an engineer submarine tech in the U.S. Navy. In 1957 he married Marlene Jackson. Ed went on to work for General Telephone and Pacific Northwest Bell, retired in 1989, but continued contract work throughout Hawaii, Nevada, California and Texas. He enjoyed summers with his family traveling to Buxton, N.D., farming with brother-in-law Sterling Ingwalson (deceased) and sister-in-law Kay Ingwalson. He moved to Kettle Falls, where he owned and operated an antique and secondhand store. Ed was a rodeo rider, avid runner, gun collector, proud veteran and will be remembered as a loving father and a true cowboy.
He is survived by his loving daughters Nanci Haskin (husband Dean) and Lori Erickson (fiancé Scott); son Tom Aker (wife Pam), former wife of 40 years Marlene Mackay; grandchildren Ashley Pedroza, Steven Goodrich, Kevin Darrow, Siera Goodrich, Ryan Aker, Brittany Aker, Zachary Aker, Tim Aker and Todd Aker; great-grandchildren Addisyn Pedroza, Trent Pedroza and Hayden Aker; sisters Dorothy (Miller) Davenport and Velma McCall; and many close friends and extended family.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Weste and Katherine Erickson, brothers Henry "Hank" Erickson and Carl Erickson, and sister Anna Scott.
