Toy J. Fuson Jr.

Toy Jackson Fuson Jr., longtime Brentwood resident, died on Aug. 10, 2015. He was 91.
Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Smithville, Tenn., Fuson grew up in Smithville and joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving on USS Albert W. Grant in the Pacific and occupational forces in Japan. After the war, he graduated from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville and married Ina Rose Tramel on Sept. 6, 1949.
Fuson worked for the FBI for 27 years until his retirement in 1978. He did investigative work as staff supervisor in the organized crime division in Philadelphia and Allentown, Pa.; and in New York, N.Y., from 1951 to 1972. He was the supervisory agent in charge in the Nashville office from 1973 to 1978. After his retirement from the FBI he became a real estate agent/broker, and worked with several real estate companies for the next 34 years. He retired from Crye-Leike Realtors in 2013 where he was a life member of Multi-Million Dollar Producers. He earned several professional real estate designations and was a member of numerous real estate committees in the Williamson County Association of Realtors.
Fuson was a member of Brentwood VFW 9687, Brentwood American Legion Post 156, Nashville Elk Lodge #72, Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, Brentwood Rotary Club and Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by wife of 45 years, Ina Rose Tramel Fuson; infant son, Stephen Tramel Fuson; son, Philip Tramel Fuson; parents, Toy Jackson Fuson Sr., and Martha Frazier Fuson; brother, Dr. Amon Joe Fuson; sisters, Martha Jean Robinson and Helen Virginia Matthews. Survived by daughter, Nancy Rice (Kevin); and grandchildren, Jessica Fuson Young (Randall), Jonathan C. Rice and Robert C. Rice; and great-granddaughter, Kensley Rose Young. Also survived by brother, Alfred Donald (Linda) Fuson of Smithville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
