William T. Land

William T. (Bill) Land of Richland, Miss., passed away Sept. 28, 2015, at 91. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from May 1941 through October 1945, and saw service with the 2nd Marine Aviation Construction Battalion on Guam, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and several other islands, building and repairing airstrips for use by Allied forces.
