Robert Tangen

Robert, of Garfield, N.J., died Jan. 10, 2015. He was married to his wife Patricia for 58 years. He was a Navy veteran of 17 years. He wrote newsletters for VFW Post 3484, Naval Enlisted Reserve Association and Submarine Veterans of WWII.
He was employed as a toolmaker at Hoffman LaRoche.
He was predeceased by his brothers Jack, Jerome and Raymond, and sister Sonja.
He was the father of four sons - Ronald and fiancee Sandra of Bostic, N.C., David and his wife Janine and grandsons Jeffrey and Jonathan of Maywood, his son Jonathan and wife Bondette of Garfield. He was predeceased by his son Eric. Eric was married to Barbara and they had one son, named Robert after his grandfather. Robert served six years in the U.S. Submarine Service and is currently attending college in Albany. He is engaged to Sarah. He is survived by two brothers - Rene Tangen in Oregon and Denis of Pennsylvania.
