$1 million prize for an Andretti race fan

Indy Car driver John Andretti has teamed up with Window World and ABILITY magazine to give one of six semi-finalists an opportunity to win $1,000,000 in the Window World Win-Win contest. If Andretti wins the 2011 Indianapolis 500 on May 29, a race fan will be taking home the grand prize.

Registration for the Window World Win-Win contest is available by clicking here and the deadline to do so is May 1. The six semi-finalists will be selected from a random drawing conducted by The National Sweepstakes Company. The National Sweepstakes Company will choose one contestant from each of the five United States regions, and a sixth semi-finalist will be drawn from a nationwide pool of entries submitted by military veterans including active duty, retired and wounded warriors.

“The veterans are a big part of what I do, and Window World is a strong supporter of the Veterans Airlift Command,” John Andretti said. “Since we are racing on Memorial Day weekend, we felt it was fitting to guarantee that a veteran gets a special opportunity to be involved in the contest.”

Each of the six semi-finalists and their guests will be provided an all-expense paid trip to Indianapolis where they will be invited to the Window World Reception, Carburetion Day at the Speedway, the 500 Festival Parade, the Andretti Autosport Pre-race party and of course the Indianapolis 500.

“At the Andretti Autosport party, each semi-finalist will be given an envelope to open,” Andretti said. “One lucky semi-finalist will become eligible for the $1,000,000 prize should I win the race.”

The contest is open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous U.S. (excluding residents of FL, NY and RI) and contestants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entering the contest. Andretti, who has competed in 12 Indianapolis 500 races, as well as a number of NASCAR events, is a 2006 recipient of The American Legion James V. Day Good Guy award. The award is named after James V. Day, a World War II veteran and prominent Legionnaire. Recent recipients include country music artist Dolly Parton, former MLB player Rick Monday and former NBA star and U.S. Naval Academy graduate David Robinson.

“I am a supporter not only of our military but also of the American Legion and our nation’s veterans,” Andretti said. “Legionnaires put country first and self interest second. I believe in the causes and goals of The American Legion. Insuring that a veteran has a chance at the $1,000,000 prize is our way to give something back.”
