1.   A computer system at Spokane’s VA hospital has caused harm to at least 148 veterans in the Inland Northwest, a draft report by a federal watchdog agency reveals. The draft report also claims that Cerner Corp., which is being paid at least $10 billion for the electronic health records system, knew about a flaw that caused the harm but failed to fix it or inform the Department of Veterans Affairs before the system launched at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in October 2020.

2.   Russia’s military machine persevered in its ferocious effort to grind down Ukraine’s defenses Monday, as the war’s consequences for food and fuel supplies increasingly weighed on minds around the globe after warnings that the fighting could go on for years.

3.   Four months of war in Ukraine appear to be straining the morale of troops on both sides, prompting desertions and rebellion against officers' orders, British defense officials said Sunday. NATO's chief warned the fighting could drag on for "years."

4.   For the first time in its history, the Army-Navy football game will be played in New England, according to a joint announcement about the five-year cycle that begins in 2023. Although often played in Philadelphia — this year’s game is set for Dec. 10 at Lincoln Financial Field — the matchup won’t return to the City of Brotherly Love until 2027. Instead, it will be played in Boston, Washington, Baltimore and East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside of New York City.

5.   The christening of a Navy destroyer on Saturday highlighted the sacrifices of two generations — the ship’s namesake killed in World War II and another Marine who died more than 60 years later. The future USS Basilone bears the name of a Marine who was awarded the Medal of Honor before his death on Iwo Jima.
