We should support the overthrow of people like Assad but any aid to the rebels should be approved by Congress. Also any help we provide should be contingent on an understanding that we will not tolerate removing one dictator and replacing him with a regime which is just as bad or with a regime that is radical Islamist. If they want our help they should be willing to subscribe to the ideals of democracy that made the USA a great nation. Oh yes this should apply to any nation we provide aid to.
