Will there be another Korean War?

Yes. North Korea has made it clear that a military strike against South Korea, Japan or even the U.S. will likely lead to war.

If so, it won’t be a true war but a brief intervention won quickly by U.S. and allied forces against a struggling regime.

No. Without support from China and Russia, which is unlikely, North Korea will never fire the first shot.

I believe China and Russia both see North Korea as a drag on their economic and diplomatic goals, so there is little or no enthusiasm to support that regime, especially in a war. I think Chinese/Russian impatience with North Korea will result in a behind-the-scenes tripartite (USA,China,Russia) plan to overturn the NK government and create a unified Korea. The question is: What concessions and demands will each make to conclude an agreement?
