Washington Conference invites vet entrepreneurs
The American Legion - February 11, 2013
[1]

The American Legion's Business Task Force is hosting its eighth annual Washington Business Conference, Feb. 26 - 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Washington Hilton in Washington. The event, which coincides with the Legion's annual Washington Conference, gives veteran entrepreneurs and business owners an opportunity to hear presentations and attend training sessions on federal procurement opportunities, contracting strategies, and the intricacies of starting and maintaining a veteran-owned business.

The conference will also feature breakout sessions that will address the needs and unique situations of women veteran business owners and entrepreneurs. Additionally, a presentation will be given by Bill Jenkins, former veterans business development procurement liaison for the Small Business Administration. Jenkins is a member of The American Legion's Business Task Force, which is a consortium of veteran business owners and entrepreneurs who advise the Legion on policy and legislation that affect veteran businesses.

Speaker sessions will include representatives from Clark Construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of International Trade, the Defense Logistics Agency, and many more public and private entities.

Visit the Legion's registration page [2] to register Registration is free, but should be done in a timely manner, as the conference usually fills to capacity each year.
