"History of The American Legion: A National Legacy," a documentary by California company Blackhorse Productions, will be available for purchase at the Emblem Sales booth at the 92nd National Convention in Milwaukee.
The 49-minute film details the history of the Legion and its commitment to service, as well as that of the Auxiliary and the Sons, from its founding in 1919 in Paris to today. Co-executive producer Stephen Grudenic commented, "This could have been a 10-hour miniseries. One of the hardest parts was deciding what to leave out."
"I have shown this film to people who knew nothing of the Legion," he continued. "When it was over, they wanted to be a part of it, or to donate to it. It's high impact and easy to watch."
The Emblem Sales booth is located in Exhibit Hall D at the Frontier Airlines Center. The hall is open daily, starting at 8 a.m., from Friday, Aug. 27 to Tuesday, Aug. 31. The cost of the DVD is $19.95. The film can also be ordered from the Emblem Sales Web site , or by calling (888) 453-4466. A portion of the proceeds will go to the National Emergency Fund, the Child Welfare Foundation and the Legacy Scholarship Fund.
