In 2010, nearly 20,000 young men participated in one of the 49 American Legion Boys State programs. Of those young men, only two were selected from each state to attend the 64th Boys Nation in Washington, D.C., where they resided at Marymount University in Arlington, Va., and were educated on the structure and function of the federal government. As a way to award the chosen few and commemorate "a week that shapes a lifetime," the Legion captured the memorable experiences for the 98 Boys Nation senators in a 45-page yearbook and the first-ever DVD.
The American Legion Boys Nation 2010 Yearbook chronologies the week's activities, featuring photos of the senators in Washington as they attended senate sessions, passed bills, elected political officials, toured prominent monuments and memorials, listened to profound speakers, and much more. And for the first time in the program's history, Legion staff videographers followed the Boys Nation senators throughout the week, collecting interviews and footage not found in the yearbook. The DVD includes additional photos, video highlights from each day, interviews from many of the senators, and a downloadable format of the yearbook.
Copies of the 2010 Boys Nation Yearbook and DVD have been sent to all 98 senators. To receive a print version of the yearbook, please send inquiries to The American Legion/Americanism Division, P.O.
