Time running out for online Run registration

Motorcycle riders wanting to sign up online for the 2013 American Legion Legacy Run, sponsoredy by USAA, have until Aug. 9 to do so. So far, 525 participants have signed up for the ride.

The Legacy Run raises money for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, which provides college scholarships for the children of U.S. servicemembers killed while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001.

REMEMBER: All map books, patches and other registration material will be mailed to all pre-registered riders, passengers and supporters on or about Aug. 1. The Legion cannot guarantee that t-shirts, map books and patches will be delivered in time for the Run for late registrants.

The American Legion Legacy Run is open to all licensed motorcyclists with machines (motorcycles, scooters, trikes, Spyders, etc.) of 750cc displacment and above. Riders and passengers must be 18 years of age or older and in good enough physical condition for a multiday, multistate motorcycle run. Motorcycles may be inspected at any time by Run officials for overloading, tire wear, electrical systems, unsafe trailers and braking systems. DOT-approved helmets are mandatory wear at all times during the Legacy Run.
