Post 177 again hosting Rolling Thunder events

American Legion Post 177 in Fairfax, Va., will again be a hub of activity surrounding Rolling Thunder May 22-24.

This year’s Run to the Thunder’s events will include rides to the candlelight vigil at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and to Arlington Cemetery to lay a wreath at the Civil War Tomb of the Unknowns, along with ceremonies, dinners, breakfasts and entertainment by the U.S. Army Jazz Brass Quintet from Fort Lee, Va.

American Legion Riders assembled at the post also will participate in an organized ride into Washington, D.C., to join up with Rolling Thunder, the annual Memorial Day weekend “Run to The Wall” motorcycle ride done in remembrance of fallen comrades, former prisoners of war and warriors listed as missing in action.

American Legion Emblem Sales also will have a table set up at Post 177 so attendees can purchase ALR merchandise and other Legion family items.
