Eagle Scout of the Year: department application deadline is March 1

The 2021 American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year nomination form is online. Download it here.

American Legion department headquarters must receive all applications by Monday, March 1. And department headquarters must submit their nominations by Thursday, April 1 to National Headquarters. (Please note: The Emblem Sales calendar has the department nomination dealine as March 26 and national deadline as April 30. This is incorrect. The correct deadlines are stated on the nomination form and above.)

The National Americanism Commission’s Youth Activities Subcommittee will review all department nominations and select The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year winner for 2021 during The American Legion’s annual Spring Meetings in May. The Eagle Scout of the Year will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Three runners-up will each receive $2,500.

Applicants with questions can contact their respective departments. Contact information is available at legion.org/departments.
