JSSP 30 finalists prepare for Colorado

More than 1,500 youth nationwide competed in The American Legion’s 2014 Junior Shooting Sports preliminary and qualification round. Of those, 30 earned a trip to the Legion’s 24th annual Junior 3-Position Air Rifle National Championship in Colorado Springs, Colo., July 29-Aug. 2.

The Legion sent letters to the top 15 shooters in both the precision and sporter category, inviting them to compete in the Junior 3-Position Air Rifle National Championship at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Each competitor will shoot with a .177 caliber air rifle in three positions: prone, standing and kneeling. And one competitor will win the championship title in each respective category, along with a $2,500 college scholarship donated by the Sons of The American Legion.

The following is a list of the top 15 individuals in both the precision and sporter category.

Precision:
