Son’s Legion Leadership convenes in Indianapolis

The Sons of The American Legion Oct 08, 2016 Sons of The American Legion National Commander Jeff Frain and Sons representing every Sons of The American Legion detachment convened in Indianapolis this morning and will finish up tomorrow completing the organization's annual Fall Meetings. The Son’s various commissions and committees will meet at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel in downtown Indianapolis to discuss updates on the Legion's youth and veterans programs, review resolutions and prepare reports that will be delivered to the National Executive Committee The NEC also will hear from Frain and Committee and Commission Chairmen on membership updates, fundraising programs, things to accomplish during the upcoming year. Frain will have some very active team members to help him this year, including National Vice Commander's Joe Korba (Eastern Region), Bill Kelly (Southern Region), Michael Lawler (Central Region), Ken Yankee (Midwest Region) and Joe Keiser (Western Region). Other national leadership include National Adjutant Brian O’ Hearne, National Historian Mike Kane and National Liaison John Kerestan. The theme for this year “Knowledge is Power” will encourage all of the attending members to take back all of the information they pick up this weekend and spread it to all of the Sons members in their Detachment. Emblem Sales will have a room with merchandise for sale in the Lower Lobby of the Sheraton. The room will be opened Saturday, Oct. 8 from 7 a.m.-noon, 1-5 p.m. Sunday, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m.-noon Tuesday. All merchandise will be available to order, and in-stock orders placed Monday will be delivered to the hotel Tuesday.
